Funerals, Celebration of Life and Memorial Services
The most important aspects of a celebration of life and funeral service, is that your loved one’s life is celebrated and that the character and essence of your lost loved one including their wishes, are reflected in the service.
Your ceremony can be held in various locations such as natural burial grounds, crematoriums, village halls, hotels or even your own garden.
Working with your family to conduct a personalised ceremony, incorporating words, poems, music, hymns, readings, rituals or whatever else you would like to include – there are so many options available to you.
Any personal preferences, family priorities, cultural or religious traditions can be included in the ceremony.
A ceremony that reflects how the person’s life had meaning and how their life will continue to influence others beyond their death, gives a sense of that person living on within the hearts, minds and actions of others.
Together we will chat about your departed loved one’s wishes and life story, to create a celebration of a life ceremony whether that is a burial, cremation, memorial or ashes ceremony.
A funeral celebrant is someone who creates and conducts funeral ceremonies or services. In very simple terms, they are responsible for writing the content for the service and are usually the person at the front of the funeral ceremony doing most of the talking.
As a professional Funeral Celebrant, I consider it an enormous privilege to support bereaved families, learn about the unique characteristics, values and personality of their loved one and use this to construct a bespoke eulogy and funeral service which is unique to that individual. A funeral often feels like the last public act of love to celebrate a deceased person’s life and I consider it an absolute honour to help families in this important task.
Although the service may be a civil one, religious content such as hymns and prayers or spiritual themes can be included, if you wish. The most important thing is that the service reflects your wishes and those of your loved one.
I will meet with you to listen to your memories and stories, we will chat about the service and possible readings and poems. I will then write the service, which you will have the opportunity to read and make changes to.
If my services are arranged via a Funeral Director, they will arrange to pay my fee and charge you as part of their costs.
I am always happy to talk about a more tailored package if required.
